A New Roof, A Renewed Wall, and a Chapel Reborn

Lots of changes are happening here at St. Dominic Chapel!  The first thing you will notice is the main entrance wall.  You may recall there were two doors and a bank of windows that had been removed and for quite a while, it was an unfinished project.  That wall has been repaired using new brick that matched the existing wall.  Now, it just needs to have the door installed.  This improvement has really changed the appearance so much that although we are still a construction zone, it is beginning to look, from the outside, like a place of worship.  Bigger news yet is that thanks to the generous assistance of Archbishop Hartmeyer, the roof has been replaced and for the first time in 20 years there are no leaks!  This was an immense undertaking and now that it is completed, the insulation was installed, along with the HVAC system and the work on the electrical systems has begun.

We had an open house February 14th & 15th.  It was great to see the excitement of those attending and we were greatly encouraged by those who are willing to help

in a variety of ways, through asking for donations, offering labor and seeking materials.  We continue with our car raffle among other fundraisers to meet the current and upcoming renovations as we move toward our inauguration with the Bishop on March 25th.

This project is really coming together and it is amazing to see how God is leading the way!
